Cloud computing has evolved into a highly effective means of delivering solutions and enterprise applications to companies all over the world. Cloud computing has a long history that dates back to the 1960s. Remote Job Entry became popular during this time, and time-sharing became more popular. IBM and DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) were the companies that used this phrase. Full-time-sharing systems were available by the early 1970s as a result of this expansion. Few telecommunications giants began offering VPN services at reasonable prices in the 1990s. They were able to make better use of the whole network by switching traffic with proper server usage. Virtualized services began to employ the cloud metaphor in 1994.
J.C.R Licklider, an American Psychologist, and Computer Scientist pioneered cloud computing in the early 1960s. During his network research work on the ARPANet (Advanced Research Project Agency Network), which attempted to connect people and data all over the world, he introduced the Cloud Computing technology that we are all familiar with today. His interest in information technology, combined with his years of service and accomplishments in several fields, led to his appointment as Head of IPTO at ARPA (US Department of Defense Advanced Research Project Agency) in 1962. ARPANet, a precursor of today’s Internet, was born from his vision.
The cloud computing age continued to be beautiful throughout the twenty-first century. Amazon launched AWS (Amazon Web Services) in the mid-2000s, perhaps in 2006, and also announced its Elastic Computing Cloud (EC2). By 2008, Google had released a beta version of its search engine as well. Microsoft Azure, a cloud computing service for testing, deployment, and management of applications and services was first launched by Microsoft in 2008. Google compute engine was first introduced in 2012, but by the end of December 2013, it had been rolled out to the general public. Oracle launched Oracle Cloud, which includes three main business services (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS). According to records, Linux and Microsoft Azure currently share the majority of their labor in parallel.
In 1963, the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency allocated $2 million to a project aimed at developing a technology that allows two or more people to utilize a computer at the same time. Giant computers were employed, with memory stored on magnetic tape reels and a precursor to what is now known as “cloud computing” in mind. It functioned as a cloud, allowing up to three people to join. J.C.R Licklider created the ARPANet in 1969 with the goal of expanding the network (known as the primitive version of the internet). He developed his Intergalactic Computer Network concept, in which anybody on the planet can be connected via computers and access information from anywhere and at any time.
In recent years, cloud computing has grown in popularity. Cloud computing has developed a foothold in the commercial world as data security and storage requirements have improved. Cloud computing is similar to web-based email services in that it allows you to store data in bulk and access it from anywhere in the globe. Facebook, Instagram, and Google Cloud, to name a few, are cloud-based applications. This type of application uses cloud-hosted servers to store the user’s personal information for subsequent access.
