The IT giant Microsoft is currently working on an Azure-powered Cloud PC that will be built on top of Windows Virtual Desktop and is supposed to hit the market by 2021.
This innovative measure will benefit businesses to a great extend to enjoy more flexible, scalable and safe cloud based experience on Windows.
As per recent ZDNet report, the new Cloud PC won’t replace locally installed Windows and MS Office. The new Microsoft Cloud PC is a strategic innovation built on top of Windows Virtual Desktop that delivers Desktop as a Service.
At its main objective, Azure Cloud PC delivers clients a contemporary, adaptable and secure cloud-based Windows experience and allows companies to stay updated in a more simple and scalable way. The pricing of Windows Virtual Desktop will depend on the client usage.
At present, Microsoft is offering a subscription based desktop service named the Microsoft Managed Desktop (MMD). This includes Microsoft 365, Windows Autopilot and select Windows 10 hardware. This service is already being used by multinational companies.
The new Azure-powered Cloud PC can be used for virtualizing Microsoft Windows operating systems, offering virtualized desktops and applications in the cloud. It is designed for enterprise level clients rather than at individual customers.
